چکیده
Background and Objectives This study aimed to evaluate whether Toll-like receptors (TLRs) messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) were expressed in the facial nerve after incurring a crush or an injury of nerve.Materials Method An adult Sprague-Dawley underwent unilateral nerve. The was incurred by cutting at midpoint between trunk its branch. whisker movement vibrissae muscle examined 4 14 days injury. Real-time polymerase chain reaction performed for normal taken from left side damaged right side. Results On 4th day injury, expression TLR 9, 13 mRNA significantly lower injured groups than control group (<i>p</i><0.05). 14th 2 higher (<i>p</i><0.05).Conclusion expressions distal that group, but higher. Therefore, TLRs may be involved damage regeneration.

Results of End-To-Side Hypoglossal-Facial Nerve Anastomosis in Facial Paralysis after Skull Base Surgery
Introduction: The primary aim of facial reanimation surgery is to restore tone, symmetry, and movement to the paralyzed face. Hypoglossal-facial end-to-side anastomosis provides satisfactory facial reanimation in the irreversible proximal injury of the facial nerve. This study discussed the facial function results of end-to-side anastomosing of hypoglossal nerve to facial nerve when the i...

Introduction: Intraparotid neurofibromas of the facial nerve are extremely rare and mostly associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Case Report: This is a case of a healthy 40-year-old man, which underwent surgery for a preoperatively diagnosed benign parotid gland lesion. After identification of the facial nerve main trunk, a single large mass (6 x 3 cm) incorporating the upper nerve d...
